12 Winter Ayurveda Tips: Tip #9, Eat Boo Candy!

Ayurveda Tip #9, Eat Boo-Candy! An ounce of prevention equals a spoonful of boo-candy;) When turmeric is blended with just the right ingredients it becomes an amazing preventive for coughs, colds, cases of flu or with struggling allergies.

When you take the time to taste your medicine, much like tasting your food, you are able to absorb the benefits but it also helps you become smarter with your cravings.

Turmeric is bitter and astringent. Ginger and blackpepper are pungent. Honey is sweet. The mix of tastes #balance the physiology and wakes up a sleepy, conditioned palette to the tastes necessary for dynamic balance.

Here is my favorite recipe for Boo Candy! Why spend $50 for less absorbable capsules when you can make a more bioavailable version for $5 bucks?

Boo Candy Recipe: 1 1/3 c. turmeric powder 1/2 c. raw honey 1/4 c. coconut oil 2 tbsp. ashwagandha (optional) 2 tsp black pepper powder 2 tsp ginger powder 1/2 tsp. clove powder (optional)

Mix all ingredients in a food processor. Mix into a gooey paste. Store in a 1 cup glass jar. How to take it? Take 1/4 tsp- 3/4 tsp on a spoon. Wash it down with water. Take at least once a day or as often as you like. Keep your eyes peeled, I have a special announcement for Wednesday morning(!) Have been cooking up a way for us to connect as a community and I can’t wait to share!
